Sunday in Hoi An is a personal project of two best friends who are both overly passionate about all the pretty things in life. With their combined experience in marketing, events, retail, and hospitality, and their determination to introduce the best of Vietnamese and Southeast Asian handicrafts to the world, Huong and Van Anh created the Sunday brand to curate an effortlessly chic resort lifestyle. They chose to base themselves in Hoi An, a town they hold so close to their hearts.

It all started when Van Anh moved to Hoi An many years ago to develop Heron House, a French colonial villa amidst the rice paddies of Hoi An. When faced with the difficulty of finding beautiful home decor for the new house, she started brainstorming ideas with her best friend, Huong, and they soon became excited about creating a special project for Hoi An. It took them a long time (and a lot of wine) and careful planning to develop their concept, find the perfect location, renovate the entire space according to their imagination, and source and produce the high-quality products they both love. Huong and Van Anh finally opened their flagship store in Hoi An in October 2017, followed by another store in Hoi An three months later. Their first Sunday in Saigon store was launched in December 2018 in the heart of the bustling city. The Sunday Beauty Bar was created in November 2019 in Hoi An when they realized the town truly needed a chic beauty bar offering the best services. And, of course, always dreaming of the next project and believing they could survive on 5 hours of sleep per night (typical Virgos!), the girls once again gathered their team to develop the Sunday online store to bring their beloved Sunday products to the world. None of this would have been possible without such a strong team that is as passionate about the Sunday brand as they are.

The concept that ties the whole project together is the Sunday lifestyle (hence the name!)—that carefree and happy feeling of doing everything you truly love. For Huong, Van Anh, and their friends, Sunday is the best day of the week, from lazy mornings enjoying breakfast in bed to a glamorous Sunday brunch with a few too many glasses of champagne, from sunrise yoga on the beach to hours of pampering at the spa, and from focusing on baking the perfect pie for their loved ones to enjoying a sunset cocktail and letting all their worries melt away. They love that Sunday feeling of happiness, and there is no other place they would rather spend their Sundays than in Hoi An.
